Fall Group Launch

Begin a Local Group experience this Fall!

Adults will launch with a 10-week study called Rooted, connecting with God, the church, and the purpose.

Local Groups for college students look a little different. Groups will meet in homes and attendance will be more flexible to match the different schedule needs that come with college life.

Why do TLC small groups start with Rooted?

We are designed to do life in authentic community where we are truly known and loved. The Rooted material creates a solid foundation for people to experience authentic biblical community where we are celebrated, cared for, and challenged.

What should I expect?

You will be matched with a group of 10-12 other attendees for a 10-week small group discipleship experience. Your group will meet weekly on Sunday nights from 4-6PM, (October 9 to December 11) at TLC to discuss that week’s daily encounters and grow through discipleship experiences, prayer and service.

Will childcare be provided?

It is our hope to be able to provide childcare! If this is a desire or need for you, please go ahead and sign up and indicate such on the form.

Is there a cost to participate?

We ask each that adults contribute $30/person, due by the first gathering on Oct. 9. This helps offset the cost of your participant guide and a celebration dinner at the end of the material. If you plan to use childcare, the cost will be $40/person. If we are unable to provide childcare or have a celebration meal, this money will be refunded appropriately and the cost will be for the participant guide only.

What if I can’t be there every Sunday night of the 10-weeks?

We understand people’s schedules are busy and you may miss a night or two. However, we also know that when a person isn’t present, the group’s dynamics are impacted. If you know you’re going to miss more than two nights, this round of Rooted isn’t for you (but we encourage you to consider registering for the next session!).

If I’m already part of a Small Group, can I join Rooted? How?

Yes - in a way! Pre-existing small groups can go through the Rooted material together. Talk with your leader and group about doing this. You will meet at a time and location specific to your group.

We typically recommend that people do not sign up to join a new Rooted group while they are part of another active Local Group.

What makes this different than a Bible study?

While there is group discussion centered on the truth of the Bible, Rooted is about more than just studying together. It’s about doing together, applying what you read each week, being vulnerable in discussions, serving, confessing, praying, and celebrating.

10 weeks is a short amount of time to spend with a group who start as strangers, but the level of intimacy that grows is hard to believe. Rooted is a launchpad to connect you to an ongoing local group, where we experience authentic biblical community (care, celebrate, challenge).

What happens after Rooted?

Our hope is that after Rooted, your group becomes a Local Group that meets regularly and is part of each other's lives.

This is not required though. We understand relationships and group dynamics are complex. Our hope is that Rooted is a springboard for your Local Group experience, whether that continues with your Rooted group, or continues with a new group of people.
